Getting a perfect print of your coloring page is easier than you think. Follow these steps to get crisp, clean lines every time.
Step 1: Download the Full Resolution File
Always download the full-resolution PNG file rather than printing directly from your browser. Our pages are 2550 × 3300 pixels at 300 DPI - this ensures the sharpest possible lines when printed.
Step 2: Choose Your Paper
Your paper choice depends on your coloring medium:
- Colored pencils or crayons: Standard 20 lb copy paper works perfectly
- Markers: Use 65 lb cardstock or heavier to prevent bleed-through
- Watercolors or wet media: Print on watercolor paper or 110 lb+ cardstock
Step 3: Printer Settings
Open the downloaded image and use your system's print dialog (not the browser's). Key settings:
- Scale: 100% (Actual Size) - don't let your printer auto-shrink
- Quality: "Best" or "High Quality" for the crispest lines
- Paper Size: US Letter (8.5" × 11") or A4
- Color: Grayscale/Black & White to save color ink
- Margins: Minimum margins for the largest possible image
Step 4: Save Ink
Since our coloring pages are black line art on white background, you're only using black ink. Select "Grayscale" or "Black Only" in your printer settings to avoid using your expensive color cartridges.
Pro Tips
- Print a test page on regular paper first before using cardstock
- Place a blank sheet behind your coloring page to prevent marks on the next page
- Store printed pages in a folder or binder to keep them flat and clean
- Print extras of your favorites - you might want to try different color schemes
